RAP stands for Research Assistance Program. A RAP is an appointment made with a librarian to work through questions that you might have about doing research: from talking over and clarifying your research topic to deciding what kinds of sources you need to figuring out the best search strategy to use in the Library databases. The librarian works with you until you are comfortable with the research process. A RAP might take 15 minutes or it might last an hour -- it depends entirely on what you need.
